When Life Isn't Always Fair
Jesus said, “Offenses are gonna happen” (Luke 17:1). In other words, life isn’t always fair—people will say and do things that hurt. But we can’t let bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness take up space in our hearts. That space is meant for the good stuff God wants to do in us.
Jesus also said, “A good person brings good things out of the good stored up in their heart” (Luke 6:45). But if our hearts are crowded with hurt and offense, there’s not much room left for the good things God’s trying to grow in us.
Here’s the thing: that offense came from a situation, from someone else. It belongs to them. It’s only yours if you decide to carry it. Your part? Forgive, let it go, cover it with grace. When you release the hurt and the pain, that’s when real freedom shows up.
